I really like the itBandz Knee Brace. They provide support that allows me to take walks. I have ordered several braces. After a short while the velcro gives out and I have to replace the brace. The brace itself is in good shape, it is just a problem with the velcro.
I'm about to order my 3rd pair of bandz (maybe 4th?). They've kept me moving for the last 4 or more years. I've got bone on bone arthritis in both knees, exercise 5 times a week, get shots in my knees 4 times a year, and these bands complete the trifecta that is allowing me to postpone knee replacement. "Motion is Lotion" is only possible with the stabilizing effect of this product.
My only complaint is the velcro is not very long lasting. With every pair, within a month I've had to sew on heavier duty velcro (just regular stuff from the fabric store). Within about a year the non velcro portion is kind of permanently creased and the band is no longer comfortable and needs to be replaced. Pretty good value, I think, for 10¢ a day. I sure wish there was a better velcro in use.
Work great. Pain is gone.
My knee is unstable due to arthritis, an accidental “tweak,” and age. I have used an It Band since last summer and I am able to get around practically normally. Without the band, I feel like the knee could give out. This little band is allowing me to live my life!
My right knee no improvement, my left knee a bit better. They are not that comfortable but uncomfortable either,
Use of a special neoprene provides a comfortable wearing experience.
The fastening system lets you easily adjust and control the amount of tension that the band provides you so that you can get the stability and support that is right for you.
The molded rubber insert piece mirrors the natural structure of the knee
Physical therapists love how itBandz assist in protecting your knee joints / kneecaps from stress and strain - so you can stay active and mobile.
itBandz effectively alleviate the discomfort caused by IT Band Syndrome, tendonitis, arthritis, Osgood Schlatters, other chronic knee issues due to excess weight, previous surgeries, a torn or thinning meniscus, and ACL, hip or ankle injuries.
If you suffer from arthritis and thinning cartilage (bone on bone) the tension from itBandz allows the internal support piece to gently lift the patella and act as an additional shock absorber for the knee.
The knee joint is a hinge and should only track forward and backward. Lateral motion can be introduced when tendons and ligaments get injured or overly tight from IT Band Syndrome. When these happen, the knee is pulled out of alignment and requires the additional stability provided by itBandz.
If you have tendonitis, the compression on the patellar tendon reduces strain on the tendon and allows it to heal while easing pain and reducing inflammation.
